Welcome to the School Counselor's Page!
My name is Sara New and I will be your counselor at Belle Aire Intermediate! I am excited to meet each of you and help you in any way I can! I grew up around Washington Court House and am a Miami Trace graduate. I completed my undergrad degree at The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!) and my master’s degree at The University of Dayton.
I provide social and emotional support for Belle Aire students through individual and small group counseling, which may include anger management, divorce, friendship skills, grief, self-esteem, etc. I also help with character education during Lion's Quest lessons, career development, and other special services to ensure that students are equipped for their daily learning and future preparedness.
I receive referrals in several different ways. The student may request to see me, teachers may refer a student, or parents are welcome to make a request for their child to meet with me. If you have questions you can contact me directly.

Mission Statement
The School Counselor works collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to positively impact the lives of students in a nurturing environment by respecting their differences, facilitating learning, encouraging growth, and discovering ways to give each child a bright, successful future. The School Counselor’s program is child-centered, developmental, and preventative. It encourages the students’ academic, social/emotional, and career awareness at each stage of their development.
