Hello! My name is David Penwell. I am a lifelong resident and 1983 graduate from Washington Court House City Schools. I attended Southern State Community College, receiving my Associate's degree in Business in 1985. I then entered into the Manufacturing industry working at Calmar inc. for almost 15 years. I was the Purchasing, Inventory and Warehouse Manager for the Washington Court House Plant and Spring Plant. With the announcement of Calmar closing, I decided to enter into the field of education at Wright State University, earning a bachelor's in Education and Master's degree in Teacher Leadership.
I am married to my wife Troi, and have two children Katie and Jesse who are graduates of Washington High School. I also have two grandchildren, Killian and Ava
I am now starting my eighth year of teaching at Washington High School, transferring from Southeastern Local schools after 6 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I am the High School of Business teacher working as a satellite teacher for Great Oaks. The program is a project based learning environment where students learn all aspects of the business world including opening and operating a business during their senior year.
My hobbies include gardening, playing the piano and organ at the Presbyterian church for almost 35 years, collecting antiques and going to auctions.
