While it was our hope to move from required masking to optional and encouraged later this month, we stated that this decision could be postponed in the event of any change to the COVID-19 situation in our schools or community, as well as new guidance from local, state, and federal health organizations.
On December 28th, 2021, Ohio schools received the attached letter from the Ohio Hospital Association and the Ohio Children's Hospital Association urging schools who do not currently have a mask requirement to return to one.
After consultation with Fayette County Public Health-OHIO and based on the recommendation from the medical experts at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Dayton Children's Hospital, Akron Children's Hospital, ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, UC Health, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and the Cleveland Clinic, Washington Court House City Schools is postponing the rescission of the district’s mask mandate, meaning face coverings will continue to be required while in all school facilities at this time.
