Office of the Superintendent
For more than two centuries, Washington Court House City Schools has been dedicated to educating the children of Fayette County, consistently delivering high-quality education to our community each day. Leading the way in 21st-century educational practices and programs, our students enter the world well-prepared to become the leaders of tomorrow.
The district serves 2,000 students, offering a rigorous and evidence-based curriculum while prioritizing relationship building with each student. WCHCS has implemented STEAM programming across various disciplines, including Project Lead the Way, Robotics, Agricultural, and Biosciences education. Through initiatives like the University of Cincinnati Early IT Program, the Blue Lions have forged innovative partnerships, providing our students with a competitive edge upon graduation.
Our commitment extends beyond rigorous education, as service learning takes a central role in our curriculum. Students not only gain academic knowledge but also understand the importance of giving back. Graduating with critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, Blue Lions are equipped the skills necessary to thrive in our complex and rapidly-changing world.
The excellence of our fine and performing arts program resonates across Ohio and the United States. From the renowned 150-member Blue Lion Marching Band to our award-winning choirs, AP visual arts classes, and theater students captivating audiences at the Historic Washington Auditorium – the “Arts Roar” proudly throughout our community.
Our Blue Lion student-athletes demonstrate prowess in over 20 OHSAA-sanctioned sports, challenging opponents from south and central Ohio. With multiple state championships, our presence on the field, court, and in the Frontier Athletic Conference brings immense PRIDE to Washington Court House.
In the summer, engagement with students continues through the Big Blue Bus and Little Blue Truck, offering free breakfast and lunch to children across the county. Having served almost half a million meals since 2019, WCHCS ensures that every child in Fayette County has access to a balanced, nutritional meal twice a day.
Rooted in tradition and educating for tomorrow, Washington Court House City Schools is committed to preparing students for success in an ever-changing world. As we honor our history and embrace innovation, we take great pride in the opportunities we provide—both in and beyond the classroom. Whether in academics, the arts, athletics, or community service, our Blue Lions exemplify excellence, resilience, and character. Together, we are shaping the future while celebrating the legacy that makes us Blue Lions.
