If your child is absent from school you need to call the school by 10:00 a.m. on the day of his/her absence. Cherry Hill Primary's phone number is 335-3370. A written note or a doctor's excuse should be turned in on the day that your child returns to school stating the reason for his/her absence.
If your child is tardy to school, an adult needs to come to the office to sign in the child. Our school day begins at 9:00 a.m. and students arriving after that time will be considered tardy. Students who accumulate 5 tardies will have a half-day absence added to their attendance, and each fifth day tardy after that will also result in another half-day's absence.
Repeated infractions of Board policy on attendance may result in suspension or expulsion and/or referral to Juvenile Court. A student may be considered habitually truant if the student is absent without legitimate excuses for five (5) or more consecutive days, for seven (7) or more days in one month, or twelve (12) or more school days in one (1) school year. Students with twenty (20) or more days of absences will be considered for retention. We have the right to go to mediation at any time concerning absences.
